ONBOARDING FOR DOCTORAL CANDIDATES

ONBOARDING
FOR DOCTORAL CANDIDATES

EINSTEIN CENTER FOR NEUROSCIENCES BERLIN

The Problem

Highly talented and ambitious – this is how the PhD students at the Einstein Center for Neurosciences Berlin meet at Charité. At the same time, the transition to a new role and the arrival at Europe’s most renowned university hospital is often accompanied by uncertainty and fears about the future – which affects motivation and the spirit of discovery.

The Goal

To effectively support doctoral candidates in starting life as a scientist and unleash hidden potentials.

The Goal

To effectively support doctoral candidates in starting life as a scientist and unleash hidden potentials.

The Implementation

Over the course of several months, the scholarship holders learn how to organize themselves as scientists, how to make smart decisions regarding their research questions and discuss personal challenges in systemic group settings and individual coaching sessions. In doing so, they are also provided with ways in which they can support each other within the group in the future. Thus, a cohort of neuroscientists grows together, planning and reflecting – to jointly create scientific knowledge!
